Overview

The Perform Electrocardiograph (ECG) - HLTPAT407C unit is for those wishing to upgrade or refresh their skills, and those already in healthcare who need more skills and experience in performing an ECG.   

Please note Perform ECG - HLTPAT407C is included in the Certificate IV in Pathology - HLT41807 but may be undertaken separately. This unit should ideally be undertaken by individuals who have some experience within the health industry.

We recommend students who wish to complete this competency seperately meet one of the following criteria;

1. Previous experience working in a health care environment
2. A qualification in health care
3. A health care professional needing to perform ECG's in their current place of work

Class size approximately 10-20.

Course content

Perform ECG - HLTPAT407C
This unit is concerned with the knowledge and skills required to perform an electrocardiograph on a client.  

Work performed requires a broad knowledge base and the ability to apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems. Individuals will take responsibility for the quantity and quality of their work.

All tasks are conducted in accordance with organisational policies and procedures including OHS and infection control guidelines.
